apprehend and Send to St Maries All unlawfull
traders with the Indians and Specially Such as

By 1642 Dr. Gerard had transported over 40
more servants to Maryland and received and
additional 11,000 acres a-joined to the original St.
Clement's manor patent. Within those few short
years, his land--stretching from St. Clement's Bay to
the Wicomico River--was the largest, single manorial
grant from Lord Baltimore. By 1651 he had patented
another 14,000 acres in Maryland and about 16,000
acres in Virginia.
